What are the best ways to get started in your chosen industry? A panel of speakers, from experienced professionals to those just making their mark, shared insights, tips and advice to give attendees a head start.
Attendees developed the hands-on skills that are crucial for making your way in the creative industries, from creating the perfect CV to finding the best ways to get funding. These one-hour events were delivered by University experts.
Artsmart's partners presented a series of exciting events. Our partners shared their knowledge and gave attendees the latest updates about the exciting services and products to help them progress with their practice and career.
Maintaining a career as an artist requires more than simply making good work. The audience heard from artists and industry professionals who examined and demystified key areas outside of practice that artists need to consider to forge their careers.
Attendees got their questions answered about working in the creative industries. Experts shared their knowledge in short one-to-one sessions, with topics ranging from CV’s to PR.
Attendees got feedback on their portfolio from the professionals! A good creative portfolio can improve your employment, freelance and business prospects in the creative industries. Experts gave advice and feedback in this group session.
The Market Place was the central hub of Artsmart: a place to meet, share, buy and make. The space, in the Blueprint Bar and Cafe, was dedicated to networking, student stalls and a swap shop. Food and drink was also available here.
UAL’s Library Services and Learning Zone created a chilled out space where attendees got internet access, looked around stalls providing information and offers, attended digital talks or took part in informal one-to-ones.
Inspired by Dragon’s Den or The Apprentice? Selected applicants pitched their ideas and themselves to a panel of judges, in a bid to get business funding or an instant job!
